When Belief Doesn’t Matter: The Power of a Compassionate Heart
By Querine Van Grinsven
Recently, I heard that a friend’s grandmother had fallen seriously ill and was soon placed in an induced sleep. While it was done for her comfort, I felt a deep need to support my friend in some way. I asked my guides how I could help, and the answer came to me: I would create an angel ball—a symbol of love and protection—for her grandmother. I asked the angels to watch over her, and, when the time was right, to guide her gently toward the light. I poured love and gentle energy into the angel ball, hoping it would provide comfort.
Instead of writing a message, I sent my friend a voice message. I wanted her to hear my intention, knowing that text alone might not convey the warmth and care I felt. In my message, I told her that, as she knew, I work with energies, and I explained briefly that I had asked the angels to protect her grandmother and to guide her when her time came.
What happened next touched me deeply. She listened to the message with her grandfather and mother beside her. Her grandfather, who didn’t believe in such things, turned to her and said, “I really don’t believe in these things, but the way she said it, so sincerely—it makes me feel happy. Do you think there could be people waiting for her?”
Hearing this was profoundly moving. Even though he didn’t share my beliefs, the message brought him peace, knowing his wife would be lovingly guided. These small moments can be truly magical, touching others in ways we don’t always expect.
A few hours later, my friend’s grandmother passed away peacefully.
